I've noticed some slight continuity errors involving Glitch Bob.

Seaason 3, just after he's merged with Glitch, he's able to use his powers freely, and it's not until Daemon Rising when he starts to get weaker using his powers.

Now HERE is the big error. In My Two Bobs, he's able to create a portal without getting weaker.

The mechanics of game-hopping?

Something popped in my mind today. I'm exhausted so excuse me if I can't articulate my thoughts or queries adequately.

I wonder how game-hopping works and would be experienced. Completely ignoring the time acceleration aspect of it, the very definition of a game in the ReBoot context confuses me a touch. Seasons 1 and 2 gave the impression that the games existed completely on the User-side of the spectrum. The opening monologue speaks of how the User "inputs games for pleasure." To me, that seems like the User popped in a floppy-disk/CD/what-have-you, and the game would be loaded into the system of Mainframe and be played out. In a very general sense, it seemed like the user loaded the game from some sort of physical media that they obtained.

That kind of went out the window with the idea of game-hopping. Now, it's been a long while since I've seen the episode(s) where Matrix and AndrAIa explained how it worked, so again please forgive any mistakes in my logic. But it seems to me that, all of a sudden, the games were connected to the Net/Web somehow. Something is happening that allows game-hopping sprites to go from one system to another. To me, that implies that the game is no longer stored on a physical media system by any one User anymore, because all of a sudden we're now dealing with multiple Users.

Which begs the question, where are the games stored? Is there some sort of master server somewhere in the Net that has all the games in existence in their universe? Does each User then load whatever game they feel like playing from the Net/Web (gah which is it?) every time they choose to play the game? That hardly seems like an efficient system, to load and re-load a game every time the User wants to play it. Would they be able to save a local copy somewhere on the computer? Or, since the User seems so well-versed in games, maybe h/she never chooses to play the same game twice? No, that can't be right, Matrix told Mega-Bob he couldn't believe that the user still played Pentsu Hebi X, so clearly there must be something going on there...

To get back to the point of my original rant-pondering, what would be the process of game movement, then? We know a game comes down from who-knows-where and lands in the system, and then leaves and picks up any sprites whose icons happen to be in the appropriate setting. But then what? Another User, somewhere out there, loads the same game on their system? How do the sprites inside perceive this? Are they aware of the travel between systems (I'm assuming so, I seem to remember Matrix and AndrAIa walking in the gamecube at the end of Icons)? Do they have to play the same game twice, once when it lands in each system, before leaving the game cube and venturing onto the new system? I wonder if that would get boring, or worse even life-threatening for them if it happens to be a game where both Users happen to excel at greatly.

Just a bit of thinking I've been having all day. Truth be told, part of this is related to Lagger's Teenager Contest so I'm fleshing out a plot-point in my little ficlet. So, thoughts? My contest entry would greatly appreciate it.

So it occured to me that we may not receive anythign until September of this year, maybe September 10.

That was the first airing of The Tearing and the birth of the series, so maybe Rainmaker is trying to go for a symbolic "rebirth" of it by launching a new website or trailer in September of this year.

NO IDEA if this is true in any way or just completely 8-bit, but it may be worth considering....

Hopefully we get some sort of frickin update ANYWAY before then...

It seems the CPU units in just about every system are always so quick to flee a battle. Maybe it's just me but I think the CPU units need to be more like the Imperial Guard from Warhammer 40K, the attached image shows an example of the enemies the Imperial Guard has to fight. The way I see it if your going to be killed better to go in a glorious suicide charge than trying to run away & getting tentacled by some enemy monstrosity (yes it is as bad as it sounds). Of course then again the Imperial Guard has commissars (they shoot you if you retreat when a retreat was not ordered)... hmm... maybe that's what the CPUs need, commissars! I guess the only reason I thought to compare the CPU to the Imperial Guard is that like the different Imperial Guard Armies each system CPU has uniforms & equipment that vary from system to system (in the case of the Imperium it's star system to star system but same idea), yeah I know it's kind of a vague comparison. And if you're bored & like Warhammer 40K, youtube has lot's of 40K tributes (some are better than others).
